Speaker's Biography

Graham is an experienced MD and business owner. A leader with specialist skills in transformational and visionary leadership; sales and marketing management and social business values with over 32 years in the furniture and contract interiors sector.

With expert knowledge of the UK workplace and education furniture market, Graham is now a well-known personality in this sector and within the South Wales business community. In 2014 he lead the formation of Ministry of Furniture, the phoenix business with social aims to emerge from Remploy Furniture in 2014 – and now a multi-million pound business with award winning remanufacturing and supply chain competencies.

Director of the Green Valleys CIC and leader of the Skyline Project

Chris Blake is a passionate champion of social and community enterprise.
Over the last decade he has been one of the driving forces behind the establishment of many social enterprises and projects within Wales with a focus on energy and community empowerment.
Chris was a founding director of The Green Valleys, supporting community responses to climate change that were joint winners of NESTA’s Big Green Challenge in 2010.
He was a founding Director and the first Chair of Community Energy Wales - dedicated to promoting the community ownership of renewable energy. Chris also co-designed the RENEW Wales programme that has been providing peer mentor support to sustainable community-led change for 10 years and leads the Skyline Project promoting community land stewardship for social, economic, and environmental renewal.
For 6 years Chris was a non-executive Director of Natural Resources Wales and brings a passion to how the organisation can embrace the opportunity of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act to create a better Wales for all.

In 2023 Chris was included in the outgoing Future Generations’ Commissioner as one of the 100 Changemakers in Wales and is currently researching the impact of community land stewardship at Bangor University.
