Start your journey of self-sufficiency and community unity, through our exciting Grow Your Own at Home and Biodiversity venture”.
ROOM TO GROW is a green recovery, permaculture, and food resilience project based in and around the City and County of Swansea. Over the past 3 years, we have developed a Grow, Cook, Eat and Keep initiative, driven by a program of events & workshops aimed at alleviating some of the issues facing communities such as the effects of the COVID pandemic, and the Cost of Living Crisis. We have worked and developed our initiatives within the communities we serve, leaning heavily on the practice of community-led consultation that allows us to focus our strategies in the areas where our outputs lead to direct and lasting outcomes.
R2G's grow-your-own at-home strategy is deeply rooted in theories of permaculture, and sustainability, working with and employing techniques that take advantage of assets that already exist within communities and households. We teach and develop a holistic approach to green recovery that actively encourages "pests" insects, slugs, snails, pollinators, and other native plants and species to thrive in our spaces, working in tandem with and supporting our “grow-your-own at home" initiative, while increasing biodiversity and aiding green recovery.
