Join us as we explore the lives of breakthrough women from across industrial South Wales who feature in our Special Collections at Swansea University. Come along to one of our workshops where you will discover photographs, writings and recordings of remarkable women which are held at the South Wales Miners’ Library and the Richard Burton Archives. Help us re-create these women's stories and design panels for a new Breakthrough Welsh Women's banner in the run up to the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the South Wales Miners’ Library. Everyone’s welcome!

Partners: South Wales Miners' Library, DOVE workshop, Banwen, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Richard Burton Archives.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities, taking place 10–19 November. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. For further information please see
