This event is part of the Taliesin Arts Centre series
With: Anushiye Yarnell
For this final walk, we will draw upon the themes already explored, and consider the work of dancer Anushiye Yarnell, who has responded to these civic landscapes in a short film.
A psycho-geographical wander with dialogues to imagine and propose new ways of working in Swansea (from Taliesin), led by artist Owen Griffiths in collaboration with artist, dancer, and choreographer Simon Whitehead with special guests.
New Futures is a series of walks, as tools, to explore and consider the relationships, landscape and communities that surround Taliesin – a building hidden within the university landscape, bordered by Singleton Park and Swansea Bay. Using the arts centre as a starting point we invite you to join artists Owen Griffiths and Simon Whitehead, and together navigate the ways in which Taliesin can serve its environment and communities in the future, from the hyper local to the global. Exploring culture, crisis, participation, climate and linking academic research and the natural landscape.
Join Owen and Simon on these immersive cultural walks exploring questions, meeting academics and practitioners within the landscape, to inform new ways in which Taliesin can work in the future...
We will be meeting in the foyer of Taliesin at 6:30pm. As the weather is very unpredictable at the moment, please be equipped accordingly.
