Speaker's Biography

Anne Phillips
Originally from Swansea, Anne worked as a college lecturer and English teacher in Gwynedd and Anglesey. She has also been an assistant examiner for GCSE and A level for WJEC. She has a wide range of experience of Additional Learning Needs including those of carers. Anne co-wrote Amy's Diary with Dr Anne Collis and Fostering Network to improve educational outcomes for Looked After children in Education. She has published poetry in anthologies and magazines such as Red Poets Barddas and Seventh Quarry. Anne was a young carer. She then cared for her husband and now regularly cares for her Aunt.

Danielle is the Student Life Officer within Welfare@Campuslife. She has worked within the Welfare team for five years and has been greatly involved in developing the support offered to student carers from the University. Danielle's role involves providing practical advice, support and guidance to students as well as signposting to specialist support services.
