Swansea University’s Wellbeing Service are hosting our 3rd HOPEWALK, a charity beach walk for Papyrus, the UK charity for the prevention of suicide in young people.

During October, HOPEWALKS are happening across the UK to raise awareness of suicide in young people. Swansea University is proud to support the invaluable and lifesaving work Papyrus provides to young people in our community.

In the UK, more young people die from suicide than any other cause: our aim is to raise awareness to help young people access the support they need.

Papyrus also believes that many young suicides are preventable. They operate HOPELINEUK, a confidential call, text, and email helpline for young people with thoughts of suicide or those concerned about a young person who may have thoughts of suicide.

Every £5 raised can help pay for a potentially life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK from a young person wanting to stay safe from their thoughts of suicide.

We hope you can join us for our walk to raise awareness and to get people talking about suicide in young people.
