The University, led by Academi Hywel Teifi, has organised various sessions in the virtual tents of the AmGen Eisteddfod 2021. All of which can be viewed on the Eisteddfod website, AM app, S4C, Radio Cymru and Cymru Fyw website and sessions can be watched on demand on YouTube.

The 'Becoming Richard Burton’ exhibition at the National Museum Cardiff was one of the cultural highlights of the past year. Swansea University collaborated with the Museum to create this exhibition, using many papers and diaries from the Richard Burton Archives. In this session, academics from the University – Gwenno Ffrancon, Gethin Matthews and Daniel Williams – will be joined by another of Afan Valley's famous faces, Cleif Harpwood, to explore the meaning of Burton's life. At the height of his fame, Burton was constantly under the spotlight and the press full of stories about him. This discussion will build on the exhibition's effort to reveal the man behind the headlines, the Welshman behind the Hollywood glamour.
