Space communications is the key for tons of future man-kind needs. Americans even say that if ‘you control space then you control the world’. From a civilian and environment stand point, due to technology advancements for the first time it is now possible to have low-cost and a high performance communication system.

Swansea University’s Antenna lab is working on multimillion £ state of the art space communications projects with Airbus, European Space Agency, Satellite Catapult and MBDA.

In this talk Associate Prof. Amit Mehta will provide an overview of the inventiveness of these projects and a bigger picture on their possible impacts. In terms of applications he will cover areas of Internet of Things (IOT), High Throughput Communications on Moving Vehicles, 5G on Planes, Navigation and Weather predictions.
