From: 17 Oct 2018, 6 p.m.There is a darkness descending on the digital world, and many of us are worried about online privacy, fake news and artificial intelligence taking our jobs and more. In this context, the Computational Foundry is a beacon of light, hope and transformational change that will see human values and needs at the forefront of technological development. More of a ‘movement’ than a project, the Foundry is a place; a state of the art facility on the Bay Campus, and a people; world class researchers, students and stakeholders; driving excellence with impact and purpose.
In this talk, the academic lead, Professor Matt Jones, will reflect on how project management enhanced and supported the Foundry’s vision, spirit and drive. He will be supported by project staff, who will highlight key challenges in developing the project, including the integration of “place” and “people” elements of the project.
