Theatr Cadair presents:
The Wizard, the Goat and the Man who won the War
Written and Directed by D.J. Britton
Performed by Richard Elfyn
To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, D.J.Britton and Richard Elfyn’s much acclaimed powerful portrayal of the great Welsh statesman Lloyd George, is back, fiercer and funnier than ever. How could a Welsh-speaking chapel boy become the steely statesman who saw Britain through the Great War? How could the champion of nonconformist Christianity become a womaniser living a double life? How could this protector of the poor risk so much in the pursuit of wealth?
With mystery, charm, poetry and much humour, this speculative drama follows Lloyd George’s imagination through his imperfect past into dreams of further conquests.
‘The most stunning evening of theatre I can remember in ages. A remarkable text and a superlative performance. Rarely does one see acting of that flawless quality.’ AUDIENCE MEMBER
