We are proud to announce that we are holding our first annual PGR Showcase on Wednesday 16th May 2018!

This is an exciting celebration of the diverse research our Postgraduate Research (PGR) students are completing, from all Academic Colleges across the University, and we would like it if you could join us!

The event will feature the exhilarating final of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, where one finalist will become the Swansea University winner. Two PGR students from each of the seven Colleges will share their passion for their research and face the challenge of informing and engaging a multidisciplinary audience about their research topic in less than three minutes! This competition provides an exciting snapshot of the incredible diversity of research happening right now at Swansea University.

Students will have a further opportunity to win prizes at the Swansea University PGR Poster Competition, where each of the five finalists will present their poster to try to impress the judging panel.

The PGR Showcase will also see the return of the ever popular “Porridge with the Professor” event; this is a unique opportunity for PGR students to have breakfast with some of the University’s most esteemed professors, to discover more about life in academia and to seek valuable advice about how to be a successful researcher.

The day will be rounded off with an Awards Ceremony, hosted by Swansea University’s Senior Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott, where the incredible achievements of Swansea University’s PGR students will be recognised, and the winner of 3MT and the Poster Competition will be announced.

All are welcome at the 3MT final and PGR Poster Competition, so why not join the audience to discover more about the exciting research happening right now at Swansea University?

The running order for the day is as follows:
8.30am – 10am - Porridge with the Professor (by prior arrangement only)
11am – 1pm - Swansea University Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Final, Taliesin theatre – all welcome, reserve your place at: {link}
1.45pm – 2.30pm – Swansea University PGR Poster Competition Final – all welcome, posters will be displayed in Room West, Fulton House from 1pm onwards, alongside PGR entries to the Research as Art competition. Lunch will be provided.
3pm – 4pm – Awards Ceremony – Room West, Fulton House. Refreshments will be provided.
