From: 5 Mar 2018, 9 a.m.
To: 9 Mar 2018, 11 p.m.
Location: Other

As part of our International Women’s Day 2018 celebrations, throughout the week of International Women’s Day we will showcase a range of successful and inspiring women that work, study and support Swansea University, both past and present. This year’s theme is “lift as you climb”, so we are focussing on how our inspiring women have used their success to help others achieve, or to affect positive change.

This year 11 individuals will be featured. Please read about this year’s Inspiring Women at: http://www.swansea.ac.uk/personnel/equal-opportunities/events/inspiringwomen2018.

What is International Women’s Day?
• International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8th March.
• International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.
• We celebrate International Women’s Day to show our commitment to tackling gender inequality, and to celebrate the achievements of women who have overcome these barriers.
