Speaker's Biography

Professor M. Wynn Thomas is Professor of English and holder of the Emyr Humphreys Chair of Welsh Writing in English at Swansea University. He is a specialist in the two literatures of Wales.

Meic Stephens is a literary editor, journalist, translator and poet. From 1967 until 1990 he was Literature Director of the Welsh Arts Council. Before retiring he was professor of Welsh Writing in English at the University of Glamorgan.

Author and journalist Gwyn Griffths is co-editor of the Breton anthology, The Turn of the Ermine (2006), the first in the Francis Boutle Lesser Used Languages of Europe series. His other published works include travel books, translations of Breton plays into Welsh, a history of the Breton onion men and a history of the Welsh national anthem.
