At this event, enjoy artist talks, performances, a tea ceremony and Taiko drumming. There will also be a vibrant exhibition and performance of manga and animation co-created by youth from ethnic minority backgrounds. Developed through collaborative workshops, sensory and interactive experiences, these works transform lived experience, heritage, and contemporary challenges into powerful visual narratives. Visitors can explore the creative process from sketches to finished animations, in an inclusive, interactive space.
Framed around the Chinese solar term Winter Begins (Lìdōng, 立冬) on 7 November, this event explores wellbeing through the lens of seasonal change and cultural tradition. Rooted in practices that nurture balance and health, the programme celebrates multicultural approaches to wellbeing in Wales, with a focus on Chinese culture.
This event invites reflection on identity, belonging, and the richness of cultural knowledge, encouraging intergenerational dialogue and new ways of thinking about physical, mental, and digital wellbeing.
This event is part of the Cardiff University and Swansea University Being Human Festival 2025 Hub Programme.
