This exhibition showcases Swansea University’s Cultural Collections; drawing on, and taking stimulus from, material held by the Richard Burton Archives, South Wales Miner’s Library and the University Art Collection, collected since the university’s inception in 1920.
Focusing on items that illustrate the social and cultural history of sound in Swansea and the region, this exhibition provides a starting point for the Sound Gallery.
Working with professional sound designers, invited participants will create soundscapes and unique aural artworks that evoke a sense of time, place and people’s lives captured within the collections. They will be available to listen to alongside the exhibition in November and December.
