When students suspend, withdraw, repeat or transfer, there are implications in relation to their Student Finance, which could result in financial hardship or even affect their future studies. The purpose of this session is to inform staff of the financial implications when a student suspends, withdraws, transfers or repeats study. This is in relation to Student Finance i.e. funding from Student Finance Wales and Student Finance England. The session will also inform staff where and how students can be referred to obtain relevant information, advice and support.

• Understand the financial implications of changing enrolment status in relation to Student Finance
• Define the ‘plus one’ rule
• Identify potential funding issues due to Compelling Personal Reasons and where to signpost
• Outline where and how to refer students for information, advice and support
