Introduction to Project Management (577-21)

This is an introductory course and is relevant to everyone that is involved in the development or delivery of a project.
It will provide an overview of project management and essential tools to deliver successful projects on time, scope and budget.

This course can be used to help design, or at a later level, refine or improve your approach to Project Management as per
Swansea University’s framework.

The course will utilise the Association for Project Management (APM https://www.apm.org.uk/) as its knowledge base, referring to the APM Body of Knowledge and Competence Framework to align with a recognised industry standard.

Upon successful completion of this introductory course, you will be able to:
• Describe key project management elements, including: project stakeholders, project management knowledge
areas, tools and techniques, and success factors.
• Understand risk and risk management techniques.
• Develop a project implementation plan for a simple project.
