A very European group of surely four of the most universally recognised international jazz musicians in recent years. With a vast range of interests and a collective résumé which reads as a who’s who of current early swing jazz, the quartet delve into the vault of the infamous Onxy Club. Some of the most compelling, undeniably hard-swinging recordings to come out of New York in the mid 30’s by the fabulous ensemble led by Stuff Smith, one of the most distinctive voices in jazz and preeminent jazz violinists in history.
