This event is part of the Taliesin Arts Centre series
A rhinoceros thunders through the streets of a quiet village. Everyone is baffled. Where did this terrifying animal come from?
But, one by one, the village residents succumb to the new order and transform into beasts. As the world and the people around him change, the unlikely hero Bérenger clutches on to his identity and refuses to give in – but what is the cost of not conforming?
Filled with unexpected humour and nightmarish tension, Rhinoseros is a commentary on society, extremism and how hatred can spread like a virus. As relevant now as ever, this absurdist masterpiece by Eugene Ionesco comes to Welsh stages in its first Welsh language adaptation by Manon Steffan Ros under the direction of Steffan Donnelly.
Watch out – the rhinoceroses are coming!
