‘In my craft or sullen art,

Exercised in the still night

When only the moon rages’ - Dylan Thomas

Welcome to In My Craft, Taliesin’s new autumn series of events on the craft of writing organised in collaboration with the University’s School of Culture and Communication. Curated by Professor in Creativity Owen Sheers, leading writers from across the UK will discuss their personal experiences of their craft and their approaches to their work across poetry, fiction, non-fiction, stage and screen.

Winner of both the Commonwealth Short Story Award and the BBC National Short Story award, the Trinidadian and Tobago-born author Ingrid Persaud’s Costa Prize-winning debut novel Love After Love is a tender, dialect-infused masterwork of narrative and structure. An examination of the many kinds of love through the lens of a widow, her son and their gay lodger, it is a novel that manages to be both playful and fierce, fleeting and resonant. Ingrid will read from Love After Love and be in conversation with Prof. Owen Sheers. Followed by a Q & A with the audience.
