Speaker's Biography

Dr Anne Velenturf is a Senior Research Fellow in Circular Economy at the University of Leeds. Anne is a circular economy expert working on the interface of research and practice, specialising in the facilitation of transformative change. She currently works in three related areas: 1) A visiting position at Cranfield University for the Technical Programme Management of TransFIRe – the Transforming Foundation Industries Research and Innovation Hub; 2) In 2021, Anne co-founded the Yorkshire Circular Lab to support implementation of a circular economy in Yorkshire; 3) Collaborative research to integrate circular economy into the development, operation and end of use management of wind infrastructure for which Anne won the Poul La Cour Award 2021, and she is now developing a new research group on Wind Energy Lifecycle Sustainability. Anne previously coordinated the Resource Recovery from Waste programme which facilitated radical change in resource and waste management. Anne holds various advisory positions for government, research councils and industry.
