Swansea University will commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day on Thursday 27th January 2022, online via Zoom from 11 am to 11.45am. This year’s theme for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) is ‘One day’. ‘You didn’t think about yesterday, and tomorrow may not happen, it was only today that you had to cope with and you got through it as best you could.’ Iby Knill, survivor of the Holocaust.

We will be featuring an inspiring talk by Vera Bernstein. She will talk about her mother, Alice Svarin, a survivor of the Holocaust, Vera will be sharing her mother’s experiences with us. It will be of relevance not only for those interested in the legacies of the Holocaust, but for anyone interested in separated families in the present.

The event will be opened with a welcome from Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Martin Stringer.
