At noon on Friday, June 4th, the Morgan Institute Challenge - our public debate competition - will be held live as part of the Eisteddfod yr Urdd. The competition is sponsored by the Morgan Institute, a center for higher studies focused on interdisciplinary transformational research, and organised by Academi Hywel Teifi, a center promoting Welsh medium higher education, both at Swansea University.

Speakers from three schools - Ysgol Bro Dinefwr, Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg and Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr - will headline debate on the topic 'Is now the time to declare a climate crisis?'

The competition aims to give pupils the opportunity to demonstrate their reasoning and argumentation skills as well as receive feedback from leading judges. This year the judges will be politician Ben Lake MP and global expert on climate change, Professor Siwan Davies.

This competition will be held as a live webinar on Zoom and broadcast via Facebook.
