In this special online event to mark Swansea University’s centenary, Professor in Creativity at Swansea University, Owen Sheers, is joined by historian Dr Sam Blaxland to discuss his book ‘Swansea University: Campus and Community in a Post-War World, 1945 – 2020’. The book, written to mark the University’s centenary is both a study of the institution, and a broader social history of post-war Britain. It focuses on particular themes like the development of youth culture, and the rise of protest movements. Sheers and Blaxland will discuss the challenges or writing a history like this, and the extensive oral history project that was part of its research.

After the conversation they will be answering any questions you may have.
