Holocaust Memorial Day - Stand Together.

From: 27 Jan 2020, 1 p.m.
To: 27 Jan 2020, 4 p.m.
Location: Taliesin Mall Room, Park Campus

January 27th is Holocaust Memorial Day, a day reserved for remembrance and a commitment to ensuring that the horrors of our past are not repeated in our present and future.

Swansea University will mark HMD 2020 with a series of talks and workshops on the theme of Stand Together, exploring how we must learn from each other, transcend difference and work together to combat the increasing spread of inequality, prejudice and hatred in all societies.

The Theme of this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day is Stand Together.

This year is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and 25 years since the Bosnian Genocide.

Genocidal regimes throughout history have deliberately fractured societies by marginalising certain groups. Now more than ever, we need to stand together with others in our communities in order to stop division and the spread of hatred in our society.

There will also be an exhibition all day in Taliesin Mall looking at disability and diversity, which all are encouraged to attend.
