Speaker's Biography

Professor Alan Llwyd is a poet, critic and author. He won the Chair and the Crown at the Ruthin National Eisteddfod 1973, and again at the Cardigan National Eisteddfod in 1976, only the second poet to do so in the history of the Eisteddfod. He is a prolific author, with several volumes of poetry and criticism published including biographies of Hedd Wyn, Gwenallt, Kate Roberts and R.Williams Parry. He wrote the script fotr the Oscar nominated film Hedd Wyn (1992). He was appointed Professor in the Department of Welsh, Academi Hywel Teifi, Swansea University in 2013.

Launch event of the literary memoir discussing the life and work of one of Wales' most prominent poets, Professor Alan Llwyd of the Department of Welsh, Swansea University in Tabernacl Chapel, Morriston (Woodfield Street, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 8BR) Thursday 22 November 7pm. An entertaining evening in the company of the author with Robert Rhys, former lecturer in the Department of Welsh, asking him about his life and work. Free admission and light refreshments provided.
