Swansea University’s Academi Hywel Teifi is sponsoring the Lolfa Lên (Literature Lounge) at Cardiff’s Tafwyl Festival at Cardiff Castle on the weekend of 30 June and 1 July and is presenting a full programme of discussions, workshops and readings. The events presented by Academi Hywel Teifi at Tafwyl’s Literature Tent are:

Awen Abertawe – Saturday 30 June 12pm

An opportunity to hear from chaired bards Tudur Hallam, Aneirin Karadog, and Grug Muse as well as other young poets from Swansea University’s Department of Welsh as they present their work and discuss their craft.

A Welsh Family’s War – Saturday 30 June 4pm

Dr Gethin Matthews from Swansea University’s History Department discusses his new book, which examines letters collected from three Swansea brothers who were First World War soldiers with Professor Martin Johnes. The book explains the insight these letters provide about the attitudes of communities towards international humanity, war, masculinity and family love.

Developing New Drama – Saturday 30 June 5pm

Wyn Mason, the winner of the Drama Medal and a PhD at the Department of Welsh, discusses his craft as a playwright.

Tu ôl i’r Gôl – Sunday 31 June 12pm

Dr Simon Brooks from Swansea University’s Morgan Academy discusses his new book about football, community and Wales with Dr Osian Elias from the Geography Department.
