The Medical School's International Women's Day event will be held on Wednesday 7th March 2018, Professor Sara Mole, Professor in Molecular Cell Biology, UCL Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity Professor, has accepted an invitation to come and present her work on the molecular genetics and biology of Batten disease. These are the most common neurodegenerative disorders of childhood. Children suffer from progressive blindness, seizures, and decreasing cognitive and motor abilities, leading to premature death. Professor Mole will also talk about how her Department achieved a Gold Athena SWAN award.

The event will be held in ILS1 seminar room time to be confirmed, and lunch will be provided.
