On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th October, the BBC’s world-famous Research & Development department will set up a temporary booth in the Singleton Campus University Library, showing three of the BBC’s most exciting VR experiences:

• The award-winning VR Spacewalk is inspired by NASA and ESA’s training programmes and the experiences of real astronauts. It will transport you up to the International Space Station, where you’ll be called upon to make an emergency repair out in space, 250 miles above the Earth’s surface.
• Pull a pint in the Queen Vic - play darts, pull a pint and play the Queen Vic’s very own piano in BBC R&D’s first ever creation of a virtual reality TV set.
• Immerse yourself in a magical, fairy-tale forest equipped with award-winning state-of‐the-art binaural audio.

Throughout the day, students and staff can come and try out the films, as well as finding out more about the amazing work BBC R&D is working on right now.

On Friday 27th, students will also be able to hear from BBC guest speakers talking about their career paths and their expert fields including 3D sound design and digital development.
