Royal Welsh College Big Band presents
'Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite'
You'd be hard pressed to find a Big Band as swinging, as entertaining and versatile as the Royal Welsh College Big Band who are going from strength to strength under the directorship of Robert 'Teddy' Smith. Join them this Christmas for American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s jazz interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite.
We continue celebrating the work of Ellington in the second half with a shift of focus to some of his great vocal numbers, paying homage to some of his great vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Mahalia Jackson.
