What is the circular economy, and how can it benefit your business?

We all know the benefits of bearing the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ motto in mind at home, but recently more and more people are seeing the benefits of applying this attitude to business as well.

Ask yourself, has your business reviewed the resources it uses, and evaluated whether there are better performing resources available? Has your business reviewed the components, products and materials it uses, with a view to reuse or refurbish? And perhaps most importantly, how much could your business save by adopting a restorative and regenerative attitude, rather than “take, make, dispose”.

This talk will give an insight into the changing business environment and look at how businesses can align with the circular economy model, by reassessing how they design, manufacture and sell products to consumers. It will provide an appreciation of circular material flows, supply chains and waste as a valuable resource, as well as exploring the relationship between industrial ecology, business, policy and innovation.
