Nidum Ensemble LIVE at the GREAT HALL, Bay Campus, Fabian Way.

From: 1 Apr 2017, 7:30 p.m.
To: None
Location: Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium , Great Hall, Bay Campus

After their marvellous performance at the Swansea International Festival, the Nidum Ensemble return to the Great Hall with two sublime works for string octet. Mendelssohn’s Octet, written when he was only sixteen years old, has been described as one of the miracles of nineteenth-century music, and remains a much-loved favourite with players and audiences. By contrast, Max Bruch’s Octet was written at the very end of the composer’s life, and not published until after his death in 1920.
Formed of young professional musicians from across the globe, The Nidum Ensemble is a dynamic, diverse and innovative group passionate about bringing chamber music to audiences across the UK. The group is made up of chamber musicians from orchestras including
The London Symphony, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and the
BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
