A special virtual event that discusses the Spanish flu and the Coronavirus, looks at how pandemic diseases affect society and culture, and asks what the lessons are there for the future.

The event, hosted over Zoom, is led by Dr Angharad Puw Davies, Clinical Associate Professor of Microbiology and specialist in infectious diseases at Swansea University's School of Medicine, and Dr Gethin Matthews, Senior Lecturer at Swansea University's Department of History and expert in the social history of the 20th century. Chaired by Academi Hywel Teifi's Director, Dr Gwenno Ffrancon.

The discussion is part of the Being Human 2020 festival, the UK's only national humanities festival - and this is the festival's only Welsh-medium event, organized by Academi Hywel Teifi.
