Speaker's Biography

Dr Hannah Sams is a lecturer in the Department of Welsh, Swansea University. Having completed her undergraduate studies at Swansea in 2011, Dr Sams then went on to complete a Masters through Research and a PhD, both funded by the AHRC. Her Masters through Research considered to what extend the label ‘absurdist’ could be used when discussing the Welsh playwright Gwenlyn Parry. The PhD then looked at the Theatre of the Absurd in Wales in more detail. She is currently developing one element of the PhD, a comparative study of Aled Jones Williams, a Welsh playwright and Sergi Belbel a Catalan playwright as a part of the Saunders Lewis Memorial Scholarship.
