John Etheridge’s Sweet Chorus
Joint 20th anniversary and 70th birthday tour 2019

John Etheridge has been seen in many contexts, his egregious duo with the great classical guitarist John Williams, various incarnations of The Soft Machine, The Zappatistas, and Sweet Chorus, formed as a personal tribute to his former bandleader and mentor - the great violinist Stephane Grappelli - with whom he toured world-wide for five years.

The group began as a one-off concert band but Sweet Chorus has since performed countless UK and European concerts with three critically acclaimed albums.

Other than John’s guitars and the amazing violin of Chris Garrick, a relationship described as one of the most potent in European jazz, the band is propelled by the drive of Dave Kelbie (ex of Django a la Creole) and UK bassist Andy Crowdy.
